I make it rule to only read one book at a time. I’m breaking that rule. I am reading both of these right now. I’m loving this beauty by Jill Lepore and I really like Justin Cronin. I loved The Passage (also written by Cronin), and I’m enjoying The Ferryman. #booksky #jilllepore #justincronin

Probably my next read. With 1300 pages, it’s a little daunting, especially now that it’s gardening season, but hopefully it won’t take too long to get through it. #booksky

I went on a bit of a book buying binge over the weekend. A local used bookstore had a BOGO sale, and this was the result. The copy of Shogun - while used - was practically in mint condition. The Stephen King books were also in great condition. #booksky #books #stephenking #readingisfundamental

I just finished The Passage by Justin Cronin. It was great and now I’m trying to figure out if one of these is what to read next. #booksky #tbrlist #books #stephenking #nonfictionhistory

I just finished reading Hearts in Atlantis by Stephen King yesterday. It’s a great book. Five interconnected stories based over the course of 39 years from 1960 until 1999. I thought the ending was fantastic. #booksky #stephenking

Even though this masterpiece was released in 1989, I am just now reading it. I’m about halfway done, and so far it is fantastic. #Booksky

Finished Desperation yesterday. Wow, what a ride. Started The Regulators today. Hope it’s nearly as good. #booksky #stephenking

Isn’t it ironic that BBC America is playing “White House Down”, the night before the inauguration.

I picked up this beautiful copy of Frankenstein at the bookstore yesterday. I have never read it, but anxious to. Bonus: it was on sale. #booksky

Since there’s only a few hours left of 2024, here’s some photos of this year’s garden.

Evangelicals overwhelmingly chose Ronald Reagan over Jimmy Carter — a literal Sunday school teacher.

There is no reason to think they will ever return to sanity…

Rest in peace to Submariner LT James Earl Carter Jr, USN (Ret). Carter, the only U.S. President to graduate from the U.S. Naval Academy, leaves a legacy of service. The USS Jimmy Carter (SSN-23), a Seawolf-class fast-attack submarine, carries his name in honor of his dedication to our nation.

Just a reminder that your local library has more than just books! Many also have dvds, cds, video games, game systems, internet hot spots, streaming services, ebooks, audio books, park passes, museum passes, and so so much more! Maybe it's time for a visit!
