Delighted that this paper is finally published. Have 2 or 3 more (I am on it @chadtopaz.bsky.social) that are related, but I really hope we can put to bed the idea that local crime is a big driver of gun sales. At least in normal times.

I love that Trump turned DC into the dystopian Hill Valley that was created by a parody of Trump.
It's been many years since I've been in downtown DC and it's amazing how much this trash administration has made parts of it completely unpleasant to walk around all in the name of addressing a crime problem that did not exist

So I get a little grief for saying gun markets are mostly stable (population-adjusted shares mostly constant over time), but this wasn't always the case.
