Quaternary sediments and landforms. Glaciers and climate change.

Tho' much is taken, much abides; and tho'
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

This iconic 1971 photo of Gloria Steinem and Dorothy Pitman Hughes has always said so much without saying a word.

Two women. Two raised fists. One shared fight for equality.

Dorothy passed in 2022. Now Gloria is gone too.

Two giants who helped change America.

Rest in power, Gloria. ✊🏼✊🏾

In incredible news, the European Parliament has voted overwhelmingly for "The Full Recognition Of Trans Women As Women."

Even the center-right European People's Party voted for the declaration.

It will form a foundation for their position at the UN Commission on the Status of Women.

Our latest.

The resolution, though nonbinding, is a significant shot at those who seek to erode transgender rights on the continent.

BREAKING: government’s decision to proscribe Palestine Action under terrorism law ruled UNLAWFUL

This matters for everyone.

For years, the right to protest has been under sustained and deliberate attack.

Thousands of people have been arrested for something that should have never been a crime.

They say they’re going to stand in solidarity with Kalaallit, Greenlandic Inuit, amidst threats from U.S. President Donald Trump.

The first 50 Haredic Jews ever seem to have been drafted into the IDF (usually exempt). In British politics, Hasidic Jews (a branch of Haredim) are often avid socialists and anti-Zionism, some of our most vocal defenders of Palestine ❤️
The Haredis have decleared a "war" against Israeli authorities for imprisoning them in military prison for not enlisting to the IDF

Truly. The distinction between the treatment of elderly Gaza demonstrators and far-right protestors suggests a complete breakdown in our moral compass.
Yet there was not an iota of understanding or sympathy for the legions of people peacefully protesting the genocide in Gaza, who are now being roundly labelled ‘terrorists.’ Why is it only ever the fash who have ‘legitimate’ concerns?
Fucking hell the standard of the debate on that asylum hotel protest is appalling. Broadcasters and politicians bending over backwards to defend and justify the actions of the protestors. Not even a hint of the bravery required to stand up or challenge far-right ideas.
