"This war is already lost," says journalist Spencer Ackerman. "Iran has so thoroughly outfoxed the United States that you heard Trump say he is willing to walk away from a conflict he began without reopening the Strait of Hormuz."
“This War Is Already Lost”: Spencer Ackerman & Behrooz Ghamari-Tabrizi on Trump’s Iran Debacle
President Donald Trump gave a primetime televised address Wednesday to discuss the war on Iran, his first since the United States and Israel launched attacks on February 28. Trump gave few clues about...

New in PN: The bombing of Iranian children is an unforgivable crime

"American disinterest in the lives of people abroad is a resource politicians use to justify cynical wars. It's hard to see on what moral grounds we claim a right to decide the fate of those about whom we clearly care so little."

The morally bankrupt Trump administration has partnered with another morally bankrupt authoritarian to declare an unprovoked war on Iran, already killing scores of civilians.

We need an immediate vote from Congress on a War Powers Resolution. Then articles of impeachment.

I will never get used to the disdain our country holds for brown and Black children.

From Palestine to Iran to Sudan, we normalize the destruction of schools and hospitals and daycares. We reduce children to death tolls and their futures to rubble with no consequence or second thought.

if the media had any integrity — and it doesn’t anymore — they’d be pointing out on a loop that Obama made a deal with Iran, Trump cancelled it because Obama is Black, and then Trump started a war on the pretense there is no deal

I'm already sick of "It's all a distraction from Epstein" replies. This regime is killing innocent people because our leaders are all power-hungry tyrants and war profiteers. When you say it's "just a distraction" you minimize the gravity of what's happening and the lives lost.

I was talking to Seth Moulton's staff about that this week with regard to the Burlington ICE office. One thing they said was that closing an existing facility is really hard but preventing a new one from opening is comparatively easier. We have to stop these camps now while we have the chance.
Local zoning is the way! A lot of these are being stopped or stalled by neighborhood organizing.

These warehouses often need to be purchased, permitted, approved for occupancy and specs. Each one of those steps can be interrupted.

Ppl are pressuring corps not to sell, counties to deny permits, etc

When you say “only the vulnerable” are at risk… you’re saying that vulnerable people are expendable.

When you say “only those with pre existing conditions will die”… you’re saying our lives don’t matter.

You can become one of the “vulnerable” at any time.

Many of us were healthy…until we weren’t.

This is heartbreaking. I’ll say it again: ICE and anyone who supports these policies are monsters.
This 53 year old man who lived in my neighborhood w/no criminal record & who had been in the US for 30 years, was detained and thrown into a cold cell for days, caught pneumonia and COVID there and deported.

He finally died.

I am so angry.

the democrats deliberately boosted the candidacy of donald trump and ran status-quo empty suits against him and those brilliant strategies got the US two trump terms. a few oddly still have the audacity to blame the left for their lack of enthusiasm in cheering on these obviously awful plans

Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.
