Labour and Conservative Governments have been hiding the real scale of the climate crisis

They know that if everyone knew the true threats, we would make them act - the oil and gas billionaire funders of those parties don't want that to happen

The government has rejected an application by North Yorkshire Council, the University of York and Drax Group to turn the latter's power station into an AI Growth Zone. Had it been accepted, the status would have fast-tracked Drax's plans for a 1.2GW data centre.

Either all software is dead or the US copyright laws are about to receive an update.

I'm a huge fan of Gail's work, so this is a dream come true. Isn't it gorgeous?

Those of us who do care, have got our work cut out and we can’t afford for “Made by Humans” to become some kind of “”Fairtrade” sticker on slightly more expensive stuff which only a minority of people actually give a shit about.
The world is changing. I have no idea where any of this is going but my suspicion is that many, many, people will happily engage with “content“ / entertainment that ticks particular boxes for them and not need “made by humans” to be one of them.
Had my first encounter with AI music in an uber - tried to Shazam what driver was playing (interesting reggae mash up featuring voice I thought I recognised) but didn’t work. Asked driver and he said “it’s AI”.

In fact, the plans are fragile, and this petrotech dream only works if everything lands with perfect timing and poise.
