There's always a bunch of theories and rationalizations we can make for why we have these kinds of desires, but in the end, it can all be summarized like this:

Gotta be honest, we need less "protest voting" and more raising awareness on how the US and UK voting system is fundamentally broken, and advocating for a better one. (This video is about the UK elections in *2015*. 🫩)

I'm not sure who you're rebutting but I think the word they're looking for is "Mercantile". To be fair, sometimes it can be a bit disillusioning to go to a place for escapism and be met with a bunch of people trying to sell you something.

Unfortunately a lot of the early reviews released today seem to be implying it's going to be priced more in the gaming PC range... for something you can't really upgrade. The Steam Machine might just be cursed at this point.
