I am working on my "Good Times" book and I find myself still feeling sad that John Amos (dad) had to leave the hit show after S3. Such a good actor and perfect as James, husband of Florida (Esther Rolle). Watching the reruns is an emotional roller coaster ride. LOL or 😭. Wonderful cast!!

In preparing "Good Times" book I read Jimmie Walker's "DYN-O-MITE!" book. Amazing that I can see a link w/my 1st book. Frank Schiffman, owner of the Apollo, is mentioned in Jimmie's book. In 1939 Mr. Schiffman praised my father's first movie. Eddie, L. Harper, Jimmie Marshall, Apollo Manager.

I love writing. I think what I hate now is DREAD that comes knowing I SHOULD be writing, and HAVE to write soon, but am NOT 😂
In which case, the new story for my brain needs to be, "You know, if you just do this pleasurable thing NOW, you don't have to experience THIS displeasure for hours."

Thinking about my mom today. She died Oct 2, 2010. Her life was a roller coaster. Here she is on an "up". We were in Puerto Rico taping a radio show, "Duffy's Tavern." Yes, this is way back in the day. This pic was taken by the famous Black photographer Gordon Parks for Life magazine. #Life #love
