People are asking why we're weeks out from a general election and Democrats haven't promised anything, have no clear platform, etc. I told you:
If I'm correct it's because Democratic electeds and consultants want to win by default, that is reach a political equilibrium in which the GOP are seen as too extreme to govern, and a plurality of voters have no choice but to elect Democrats. This results in sliding right and taking the temperature.

I’m angrier that, after 50 years of Republicans campaigning on racism, bigotry, misogyny, and xenophobia branded as ‘culture wars,’ Democrats still haven’t found a way to respond without selling marginalized people down the river. No more harm-reduction votes for harm-reduction Democrats.

Thing is, you can only use elections to hold politicians accountable if you're willing to let them lose and either vote for someone that represents you, or abstain altogether. If you're voting for the lesser evil, you're not demanding accountability. You're enabling fascism.
