an orange tabby is sitting in front of the camera ears askew with huge begging eyes and very engaged whiskers an orange tabby is sniffing the camera, his snout taking up most of the frame. his nose is very dark pink bc hes excited, so his heart rate is up, leading to increased bloodflow and darkening of the nose. theres a word for this when the capillaries expand but im too high :(

cat update! pebbles is snuggly and big guy was looking majestic
a calico cat has her face very near the camera, eyes half closed in pleasure as she is being pet. she is stood on her hind paws with one forepaw on the humans leg so that she can get as close to their face as possible an orange tabby is sitting looking out a large window, whiskers and ears in an alert and engaged position. the picture is in profile and he is in a sunbeam

enjoyed my little staycation (even if i did confirm that its cherry blossoms im allergic to... oops). went to some museums and the local queer bookstore, got lunch w friends, hit my climbing goal for the year(!) by flashing a 5.12- on lead, hung out w my cats, and just generally had a good time

taking a little staycation because i didnt want to leave my cats (or the gym) for too long but had a ton of PTO. so far this has involved dozing w the cats and making plans to visit all the museums tourists usually go to that i take for granted

going to the gym at 8am on a saturday will make u feel so productive... but watch out! u go to sit on the couch "just for a minute" when u get home and it spirals into a half hour nap and the saturday sleepies

two cats are on a couch. a calico cat is lying on her side half curled, grooming the top of an orange tabbys head. the orange tabby is lying perpendicular to her with his lower body facing away from the direction of her head. his midsection is contorted upwards, one paw down on his hind leg and one put to brace himself, as he leans his upper body and head to the side 180° from his lower body, to groom the calico's front leg he could simply turn his lower body to face the other way, and be comfortable

not to brag but today i managed a hat trick and completed three previously abandoned wips. they were all about 85% of the way done, but it still took abt 7.5k cumulative words (+ some editing) to get them to the finish line

Three years ago, Judith Butler predicted in a Guardian interview that “gender-critical” feminists would not be part of the fight against fascism. This caused a massive “GC” backlash, prompting The Guardian to censor the interview. And yet here they now are, definitively proving Butler correct.
The Terfs (trans exclusionary radical feminists) and the so-called gender critical writers have also rejected the important work in feminist philosophy of science showing how culture and nature interact (such as Karen Barad, Donna Haraway, EM Hammonds or Anne Fausto-Sterling) in favor of a regressive and spurious form of biological essentialism. So they will not be part of the coalition that seeks to fight the anti-gender movement. The anti-gender ideology is one of the dominant strains of fascism in our times. So the Terfs will not be part of the contemporary struggle against fascism, one that requires a coalition guided by struggles against racism, nationalism, xenophobia and carceral violence, one that is mindful of the high rates of femicide throughout the world, which include high rates of attacks on trans and genderqueer people.

Senior U.S. District Judge John Coughenour on Thursday was blistering in his criticism of Trump’s action as he granted a temporary restraining order that blocks Trump’s executive order from taking effect nationwide. “I’ve been on the bench for over four decades, I can’t remember another case where the question presented is as clear as this one is. This is a blatantly unconstitutional order,” Coughenour, an appointee of Ronald Reagan, said from the bench. “There are other times in world history where we look back and people of goodwill can say where were the judges, where were the lawyers?” Coughenour interrupted before Brett Shumate, a Justice Department attorney, could even complete his first sentence. “In your opinion Is this executive order constitutional?” he asked. Shumate said, “it absolutely is.” “Frankly I have difficulty understanding how a member of the Bar could state unequivocally that this is a constitutional order,” Coughenour said. “It just boggles my mind.”
