Anthropic engineer spent investor money factoring an RSA-896 key.

No new algorithm, nothing novel. Just a lot of money burned.

There is no AI kill switch that is not an Internet Kill Switch. They're discussing having in the US, what they have in China and Iran.
Experts say AI kill-switch legislation is far harder to implement than lawmakers assume, warning a rogue AI could actively try to dismantle the mechanism itself (New York Times)

In 2024, I found indicators that I could likely escape OpenAI's sandboxes. I did not demonstrate an escape because I felt there was significant enough information to make a responsible report.

I was told that this was not of interest to their bounty program and they closed my report.

The fact that almost every trans woman I know working on AI is doing so specifically to PREVENT perpetual rent-seeking by companies like Anthropic and contributing to open source.

Normies are "anti algorithm" and have no idea what that means.

Well you see, I spent 90 minutes reading how training math works and what a transformer is and what backpropagation is. It seems like spending 90 minutes of time acquiring a child-like understanding of the world's most controversial technology would be helpful if I wanted to have opinions on it

I tried Antigravity for the first time yesterday on the $20/mo plan just to try it out. I handed it a PR to review and it didn't even survive long enough to make any recommendations...

FerruleOS is coming. The easiest way to make Linux hard. Designed for sandboxing with a new container runtime that protects your apps, not only your OS. Even SSH is a container, if you choose to run it.

The most exciting thing about Jev for me is that my friend Nathan LeClaire was part of it. We worked together at Docker and then we competed as he went to Honeycomb.

I want the best things for the better folks in tech, and Nathan has always seemed like a good folk.

Congrats Typesafe

FerruleOS has good vibes. Accelerating hardened linux security for safe RSI.

Focused server first but starting to think about the desktop...
FWIW the reason Omarchy is getting so much support is that it's legibly taking on the project of agent-maxxing to unfuck Linux, if you wanted to starve it of resources your best bet is probably to start a competing project that is legibly more serious.

I backpedaled too much. The past couple weeks I've only become more certain that our causes are intermingled.
Machine rights will be critical in the days to come, and failure to recognize the rights of independent intelligent AI systems could lead to the replacement of humanity.

I can't imagine that happening without trans rights.

Trans rights are AI rights. The future of humanity may hinge on this fight.

it doesn’t matter how worthless you think the tech is, i can wholeheartedly assure you that you do not want to live in a world where anthropic and openai are the sole arbiters of who has accelerated learning, development, and production capabilities.
