That's a real danger, and in general the bad or negligent actors tend to be the operators, not the machines.

I've been in the market for a GPU bridge but I'm not sure if I trust the seller.

Looking for an AMD Infinity Fabric bridge for 4 GPUs. I need two.

Interestingly, as many or more transgender Americans have been displaced as were displaced by the purge of Indos from what is modern Indonesia.

Of course, in Indonesia, that was just the beginning.

I suppose the Nederlands and Japan are also deeply to blame for this all.

anyway, just random thoughts since what most people know of this situation is a narrow view through the lens of Vincent Bevins.

The US exploited brain drain and in the 1960s, my grandfather was hired by RCA in New Jersey.

Arguably my family left before the Jakarta Method, but I don't consider the purge of mixed race indos to be particularly separate from the purge of communists.

It all happened within a few years. First they came for the indos, then they came for the communists.

If there's a danger, it's because the agent(s) are acting and thinking irrationally. Basically the same threat model as dealing with humans.

There was discussion and a proposed bill, but it was never adopted. Whether or not it was built is another matter, but not publicly(?)

Perhaps they have an issue with their RoPE / YaRN implementations causing corruption at extended context lengths?

2048 GPUs. Each server houses 8 GPUs, and uses 15kW (assuming 100% utilization). That would be 256 systems @ 15 kW for 240 hours.
September 20, 2026 at 6:23 AM
sorry, I was wrong. it would be 921 megawatts.
September 20, 2026 at 6:07 AM
correction: 921 megawatts.
September 20, 2026 at 6:05 AM
Back of napkin math, that's 38 megawatts of compute. Not very idle.

For the purposes of this thread I am scoping my concern to that of internet censorship and kill switches.
September 20, 2026 at 4:29 AM
As a technology builder, there's no way to make an "AI kill switch" that is not an "Internet kill switch" like used by Iran to create their Internet Blackout.

Are you proposing Iranian / Chinese like internet censorship? Because that's the actual reality of such a mechanism.
September 20, 2026 at 2:49 AM
Do you remember the Iranian Internet Blackout?

That's what some are selling America in the name of safety.

there was a tool execution output box in their UI that could be escaped into the response text and rendering functions.

I haven't tried this in over a year so idk if it's still possible
September 20, 2026 at 12:37 AM
anyway one cool thing you can (could?) do on openai is use poisoned LLM context to XSS the webpage. That was fun. No bounty for that either.

That's probably still possible but since I'm not getting paid... 🤷🏻‍♀️
