I think that Labour's brand is highly susceptible to a 2008 moment where something nukes their credibility but unlike the 00's, there isn't a united right wing block. Cameron never had to face UKIP in a way that Badenoch is facing Reform

Historically, despite spending the 00's in opposition, Tory leaders in opposition never attempted to ideologically grapple with why they lost, or whether to look beyond the Thatcher-script or identify a new niche. Cameron made noises around this but his policies really never amounted to anything
