What a night, what a performance from this far from 100% team, one of the great European nights at the Emirates.

Declan Rice has produced two of the greatest free kicks you'll ever see at this level, and we 100% deserved that third goal too.

Incredible. This team deserves so much love. #arsenal

Petra, Jordan was an unforgettable experience! Seeing the Treasury was incredible, but these views made it even more special. A must-visit for any traveler! #Travel #Jordan

Seeing some very familiar patterns in how people (and prominent media people) have been talking about Lewis-Skelly recently.

I’m reminded of the narrative around Sterling, Pogba, Rashford and why they needed to stay in their lanes, be humble. I wonder what they all have in common.

These "Always cheating" chants coming from the Newcastle fans are incredibly ironic considering the likes of Bruno and Joelinton exist, and their club itself is a cheat code, lol.

Stay mediocre.

On another note, when Arsenal were charged with failing to control their players over the objections to the Lewis-Skelly red card, I was wondering why there wasn't a similar charge levelled at Man City & especially Haaland after the game at the Etihad for throwing a ball at someone & abusing others?

Erling Haaland threw the ball off the back of Gabriel’s head, which by the way, is “striking an opponent” and should have been a straight red card, and the media said hardly a damn word about it.

Now you want to police things because a black Arsenal teenager copied a celebration?

Fuck. Off.

Gabriel pulling Haaland's shorts telling him to get his shoe was my favorite moment today.

When the concept of VAR was first mooted I liked the idea of experts with technology to advise on terrible decisions. It seemed unfair to refs that they had a split second and maybe a bad angle, while millions at home saw instant replays.

But how can VAR, and assistant VARS, be this bad/mad? 🧵

Next week Arsenal play….

*checks notes*

City. Ah, the team whose owners paid Michael Oliver a shitload to ref a friendly. I’m sure that’s a coincidence.

This was not a red according to Michael Oliver nor VAR.

At least it wasn't Chris Kavanagh as referee because... oh wait.
Wait.

Kamara, on a yellow card, just kicked the ball away from Arsenal players to stop them getting it to the appropriate spot on the pitch to restart play.

He wasn't shown a second card.

F/T: 2-0 Newcastle.

Awful night for Arsenal who wasted so many chances and were punished at the other end by a clinical Newcastle side. The night ends with thousands of empty seats around the Emirates at the full-time whistle.

We have to sign a forward.

Even if the Premier League might be almost impossible come tomorrow evening, we still have two cups (right now) and the Champions League. This group can't score enough, and it needs help.
This is the ninth time Arsenal have scored one or none in a Premier League game this season and they've dropped points in seven of those matches.

Incredibly poor second half from us. Whatever you think of the penalty, we just didn't do enough to win that game. The gap looks more and more intimidating as the games go on. Jan reinforcements are necessary.

Fantastic win to start the year! Hopefully, we can go on a run in early 2025 like we did in 2024. Definitely need to keep the pressure up.

Happy New Year, Gunners!
