U.S. Silica miners in Wayne County, MI, extract the ultra‑low‑iron silica sand used to produce glass for First Solar modules. Good-paying jobs across manufacturing, supply chains, and local communities all contribute to the approx. $4.0 billion in US labor income we’re projected to support by 2027.

Since opening our Louisiana factory in 2025, we’ve delivered economic growth to Iberia Parish. In 2025, our operations supported an estimated 1,970 jobs, created ~$132.2M in labor income, contributed ~$211.1M to the state’s GDP, and generated ~$734.3M in economic output statewide.
