cute fact of the day: the smallest bird in the world, the bee hummingbird of cuba, is known in spanish as a zunzuncito. ("zun" being the sound, so akin to "lil' buzzbuzz.")

We'll be closed on July 3, but not July 4. Independence Day may be a federal holiday, when the library is normally closed, but apparently that doesn't apply when it's on a Saturday. So we can close July 3 for July 4 Observed, but we'll be there on July 4. o.O

Yes, Swiss scientist Fritz Zwicky coined the term “dark matter” which is impressive, but he also coined the term “spherical bastard” to describe people who are bastards no matter which way you look at them, and I think that should be celebrated more.
