He turned to plants after losing his love.

After he died, his sister Anna made sure his life's work found a home at @rbgkew.bsky.social and @morethanadodo.bsky.social.

Some people remember the plants.
Others make sure we remember the people. 🌿

As his health declined, Harris refused to leave the garden. He would sit & watch others work, offering gentle encouragement.

"Life isn't worth living unless you can pull a weed," he said.

Tending plants is often just an excuse to tend people - generously, patiently, and for as long as we are able.
