if this were possible today, you would be able to deploy the exact same bundle as web and desktop (electron, tauri etc) and just change a target URL to an external kit server to work remotely. Instead, you have to wrap your kit API into type unsafe API endpoints or run a sidecar API wrapper.

I still don't understand what this company does, other than they have a 3D rack viewer and that they make some sort of server.

I've been using svelte from before they adquired the maintainers, and what I felt was that the framework actually got a lot more serious, but not in a bad way. I'm obviously not a fan of the CEO who takes pictures with Netanyahu, but so far they haven't put their hands in the framework yet.

they recently moved from native to a web based UI. you can connect the dots.

it's on purpose. it allows the components to actually be way smaller than other frameworks, so you end up with a smaller footprint overall. I remember Rich Harris got into reddit fights over this lol.

no vite and forced bun? why? I get the reasoning, but the tradeoffs are gigantic.
