The Commission has approved Germany's capacity mechanism, which basically supports gas over battery storage (or demand flexibility). Something I missed is that batteries face resilience requirements on domestic sourcing, while the gas burned in gas plants faces no equivalent requirement.

Ich habe mal viele Jahre in einem Land gelebt, wo 35°-40° Alltag waren.
Und ich merke hier in Deutschland, was für eine große Rolle eine an Hitze angepasste Kultur spielt. Diese Kultur ist für mich selbstverständlich. Aber hier nicht.

Wenn die Bundesregierung die CO2-Bepreisung aussetzen würde, würden übrigens auf einen Schlag Gelder für die Umstellung weg von fossilen Energien fehlen, also das unabhängig machen von dem, was die Preise gerade treibt...
