the summer/fall I* dyed my hair pink, then purple was also the summer/fall where I got my first professional freelance gig, from which I made $5000 and later got a full-time job offer. so … possibly?

Many of these issues are real: it's hard to find affordable, accessible housing with the level of in-home supports people actually need. But the issue isn't that regulations make it too hard to build congregate settings

a lot of the pushback to the “be patient, ask questions, work with trusted community members” advice for health care/SciComm workers I see is from people who aren’t in those fields but interpret the advice as for them.

it’s not! you do not need to follow it! tell your neighbor to leave you alone!

to expand further, the kinds of advice you see for talking to antivaxxers is often aimed at health care workers and SciComm pros who are trying to undo antivaxx beliefs. that does not mean you have to have the same patience and openness with your antivaxx neighbor!
