Minne Sorta Nice
Happy Homecoming week! We sat on our porch and watched them work. I handed out snacks. Grateful to not have our patio furniture relocated or random curbside treasures dropped off.

Production scale has changed just a bit from when we saw her the first time at the Minnesota Zoo. Back then her set consisted of a few neon cacti. 💖

Excellent show and overall experience, as always.

Kacey Musgraves concert tonight. We got to our section (213) and I showed the usher our tickets. He digs into his pocket and pulls out three paper tickets. We got comped and moved to row E of 113. 😳 I don’t know why or how but I’m not complaining. View of the stage is pretty impressive. 🤠

Big win tonight. And right after this was taken a person I barely know came up to tell me she’d recently worked a catering job with L1 (his very part-time gig) and proceeded to gush about what a hard worker he is and how impressed she was by him. I’m so proud of him for a multitude of reasons. ❤️

We got L1’s senior photos back today and 🥺.

We saw and did a lot of cool things over the last ten days, but my favorite memory from this trip might be looking over to see our teenagers playing Uno on an overcrowded train with cards they packed themselves.

Belated, but here is the hair. State didn’t go the way we hoped, but it was still a great experience.

I could not get a picture that truly captured it, but this morning our tree looked like Oscar the Grouch’s face.

It’s not really easing my mind, but he is sending us pictures like this.

(That’s the back of his head. He and his friends took turns getting this same POV for each other. Teenagers are pretty great.)

Then she sent me this picture she took of me at the site that I had no idea existed. I love teenagers and their ability to surprise you in the best ways.

My dad understood the assignment six years ago (technically longer, but I don’t have digital evidence for it).

I feel like someone here was recently mentioning Pat Garofalo being terrible. Immediately remembered this incident but didn’t go searching for it. Fortunately Timehop always has my back. PG being awful is evergreen.

Are we still sending old trophies to the president in honor of his unearned Nobel prize? If so, I have one to contribute.

(We did a cabin week with my family and my parents made a variety of these trophies. We went home with this one due to having a teenage boy.)

In addition to being a ray of sunshine, Girlfriend is also an incredible baker. These taste like Cinnabon. Somehow they’re still warm even though she brought them four hours ago.

Made a giant bowl of pasta salad for a get together at our house last night. 20+ guests barely put a dent in it. None of the people I live with eat it. So, I’m just eating out of the big bowl whenever the urge strikes.

Bought a fiddle leaf fig at Costco. I knew it was big, but I didn’t realize it was this big. We have 8ft ceilings. I got it into and out of the cart and my car by myself. Fully expecting it to be a naked trunk by Christmas but I’ll enjoy it while it lasts.

Last week at this time I was hiking this waterfall in Iceland. Among the many ways it was incredible, is that I was not responsible for weeds or vegetables while we were there.

Also, it you have a great zucchini recipe, I’ll take all of them.

When your garden is already a bit overgrown and then you’re out of town/busy for nearly two weeks while it’s hot and rainy you come back to something that looks like this. 😬

I weeded about a 1/16 of this and gave up because it’s too hot/humid. Will try to tackle more tonight.

Ran to my farmer husband and said “look what I made!” He was appropriately proud and amused.

There was an accident at the intersection by our house. One of the cars ran into and damaged an electrical pole. Fortunately there was no ambulance so I don’t think anyone was seriously injured.

Um, do we have the same dog? (This was several years ago. Fritz’s face has a lot more gray in it these days.)

I went outside to read a book for a little while this morning before it got hot. Then I remembered the plants I bought last weekend that I hadn’t planted yet. So…I did that instead of leisurely reading. Need to clean up weeds and re-mulch, but I’m happy with how it turned out.
