A lotta folk read "privilege" and think of people being served expensive meals in fancy rooms. White privilege is just the promise that no matter what, they're not gunna treat you as bad as they treat us.

Joining the chorus of people who remember FC used for fan character and OC for your "regular" characters - anecdotally I was also resistant to its use back then, because it felt redundant and because the acronym was already used to refer to the TV show "The O.C." :"D
