There are huge names in this, especially at the time, and I had no idea this ever happened. I was very much paying attention to current music in 2001 too.

The Nintendo Direct didn't blow me away or anything but as someone who thinks gaming peaked during the 16-bit era, new 2D Metroid and Mega Man games, plus a big Metal Slug collection, are nothing to sneeze at.

We were at the Enjoy Wrestling show tonight and The Butcher (of The Butcher and the Blade (and Every Time I Die)) collapsed after his match, presumably some kind of cardiac event. They canceled the rest of the show after that - and if you know wrestling, that doesn't happen. Awful shit.

Between this, and the children’s hospital that she funded in Knoxville, that I believe was recently named after her, although she hesitated on that for a long time because she didn’t want the recognition, she has saved countless lives.
Dolly Parton supported so many important causes, among them donating a million dollars to COVID vaccine research early in the pandemic, which saved millions of lives. She will always be remembered as a champion of the people.
