i wonder if this has a ton of up front signing bonus money. the timing of it makes me think it might since the new cba kicks in tonight and changes the structure of signing bonuses.

Newhook played 42 games in 2025-2026 tallying 13 goals and 12 assists. He was set to become an RFA in July if an extension wasn't signed.

psa: the habs are not playing in the hall of fame game this year. that weekend, the leafs have a back to back at home and the hall of fame game is the following night against the devils.
the habs have some time off though and i imagine they will stick around for the ceremony in toronto.
