This is the most important distinction imo. Like the software is not that exceptionally capable, it's the totally unhinged and inappropriate levels of trust people have placed in it that is really dangerous.

The Black Robin was the poster child for extinction in Aotearoa New Zealand when I was a kid. It's a heck of a turnaround from those days, if still fragile.
Something I've often wondered about is how Scar's despotic rule of the savannah caused the grass to stop growing around Pride Rock.
But looking back over the last few years at all of everything, it now doesn't seem so implausible.
