What is happening is called Elite Capture. That’s when the ruling class co-opts the language of the working class to undermine a movement. If your oppressors are sounding just like you while still oppressing you, it’s time to reevaluate.
Was just discussing this about Sunny Hostin doing tech bro bidding and saying that AI will open doors for Black and brown creators. People are eating up the liberatory language while their critical thinking machine is starving.

As a white-passing Muslim, it was glaringly obvious how people's perception of my changed once I started wearing a hijab. I went from never being questioned at an airport to being flagged for "random" pat-downs every time I entered a secured space in America.
