Category 3 was led by the humourless buggers than gave rise to Puritans, Baptists, Extreme Lutherans, etc. People who hate fun and can't stand anyone having any. Popular among Northern European people like Scots and Norwegians. (my bloodlines)

This discussion inspired me. I have never made cookies in my 71 years. They turned out great. 2/3 of the called for raisins and 1/3 craisins as I ran out of raisins. 3/4C white sugar and 3/4C brown sugar. NOT VERY HEALTHY! 😂😬

You survive hostile environments like that by depending on your neighbours and helping them when needed. Life is easier now but lots of these families go back to when a bad winter meant possible death. If this is the Minnesota reaction, imagine Canada. 😬
These Florida folks have no idea.

My mom's father was born in the US to Norwegian parents. I am allowed to use this.

I am old enough that several of my uncles and my father were veterans of WWII. Some saw very intense combat or were members of the resistance behind the lines. In my early jobs, I worked with vets from both sides. War is hell. Punch Nazis.

About 5 years before retirement I saw this strip. I nailed it to my cubical wall. I know my boss saw it. No problem. I actually managed much of the plan but like to think that I was slightly more useful. I did train replacements in the legacy stuff.

Stove: 1991. I have replaced one oven element and one stove element. Several years ago the electro-mechanical clock died. We managed to order another. We could easily bypass it for cooking but it was necessary to run the self cleaning function. Works great.

Long ago I had a 1960 F-100. It was a decent workhorse. Tiny by today's standard I live in a place where lots have pickups and actually use them for hauling stuff (firewood, trailers, etc.) The more urban the area, the more stupid it gets. Stats say ~70% of pickups never haul/tow anything. F100 pic.

This bald eagle has been very vocal for the last two days and staying nearby. I think we have a family here again.

I got this bike just under 2 years ago. I needed an e-bike to get up my hill because OLD. Pedal assist. Most comfortable bike I've ever had.
