Properly enjoyed a gin martini for the first time last night. I guess I just wasn't using the right gin before? When I eventually get around to getting a bottle of my favourite gin (it's expensive sadly but is very dry and tastes like juniper and trees A++++) I reckon I will really get into it.

Looking at a whisky on the BC Liquor website and the description helpfully starts with ‘a subtle nose reminiscent of whisky casks’.

After getting a diagnosis for an auto-immune disease and finally being allowed to stop eating and drinking the stuff which has been making my body attack itself, I can finally feel the perma-fog in my brain starting to lift 🥲

A year and a half on and my bottle of bretted cherry imperial stout is tasting 10/10. Sad I almost definitely will never be able to drink stuff like this again after Wednesday but very much enjoying it while I can.

Still annoyed at a certain brewery for brewing some really good beer while having the most uncomfortable tasting room in the city which is almost always full of extremely annoying people. At least this won’t be a problem for me for much longer 🤷

Into my final two weeks of being able to eat and drink whatever I want until my life changes forever and starting that two weeks with a day at Pacific Spirit Park, Wreck Beach and Mogu (the best fried chicken in Vancouver, possibly the world, Downlow truthers be damned). Pretty good tbh.

Very suddenly very ill so finishing importing/going through my holiday photos. Very rarely will allow myself a pat on the back but I have actually captured the magic of the forest we hiked through pretty perfectly. Hoping I can do the photos justice in the edit.
