The Peter Loughheed Wildlife Overpass in #Alberta #Canada

Love what the designers wrote about their process: “DIALOG’s approach to the crossing evolved from a human-centered problem to a wildlife-first solution.”

Atop this bridge is a wide, unbroken ecosystem.
“The aim of the project was to address the ecosystem fragmentation the Trans Canada Higgway and reduce collisions by physically reconnecting the ecosystem and enabling safe animal movement throughout the corridor.” The bridge is made of two curved tunnels that the road passes through, with the Rocky Mountains in the distance.
