Hello from Help & Kindness.

We work alongside people, groups and services across Dorset to help people find support, build stronger connections and make better use of what communities already have.

We share what we are learning—and learn from others doing the same.

Local knowledge is not a nice extra around public services.
It helps us see what people are experiencing, which support is trusted, where barriers are growing and which small changes could make a real difference.
The challenge is to listen well enough for it to shape action.

People rarely arrive asking for “community infrastructure”.
They ask where to turn, how to get out, who might understand, or what is available nearby.
Good local systems make those questions easier to ask—and more likely to lead somewhere useful.

A directory is useful. But it is never just a directory.
Behind good information are relationships, conversation, checking, local knowledge and a willingness to keep listening.
