This morning, I have La Vuelta on the tv and the Philly Classic streaming on the computer. In case there's any doubt how much of a dork I am.

It's Vontoux day for the TdFF! Annoyed that the live coverage doesn't start until 2 hours into the race but hopefully that's still the entire climb up the mountain today.
Zwifting thread - sorry for the boring!

This year's goal is to do the Mont Vontoux climb, in honor of the TdFF climbing the summit for the first time this year. No way I can do this climb "cold", so I'm trying to get in the other big climbs to help prepare.

11.8 miles, 4859 feet of climbing.

In keeping with my normal "completely random post once every 3 weeks" routine...

The updated finish to the Tour de France is, once again, fantastic. Last year showed what it can be, even in the rain. Updated and clear weather this year? Beautiful battle all the way to the line!

Tour de France kicks off today, in case you're wondering where you'll find my morning's focus for the next 5 weeks.

most irritating part of "how can you root for the US did you know we are bad" is

why the fuck do you think I got here without thinking about all this and coming to my own peace with it

why do I have to be in the slow lane with you, ever

you missed this meeting

I'm not giving you my notes

One of my favorite days of the year - the day where I pretend I know how to successfully complete projects around the house. Today's adventure - new closet organization system!

Ha! As someone who has tried these gels for my long rides, this tagline is incredibly apt. There's no flavor, and the texture is indescribably weird. It's something you have to "get used to."

There are also other better tasting gels on the market, so my Maurten experience was a one-and-done.
Beyond dystopian. “Our tagline is a threat.”

That said, I am very happy with my decision this spring (semester) to swing by Moon Hollow after work once a week. It lets me start my grad class reading for the week, and more importantly, the bartenders know me as a regular now!

I keep telling myself that I'm going to start posting on here with some sort of regularity, but we see how well that's going. Doesn't help that all of my "exciting" life things are cycling/Zwift related.

A couple of thoughts on tonight:
- Happy to have helped Radford go blue again in another election (with some heavy lifting from the students)
- While it's the next house district over from me, very happy to see Lily Franklin on the verge of flipping that VA house seat blue!

Three years ago, I made the random decision to take a 40 minute drive to a local orchard for some apple picking. It has become my favorite annual tradition once September hits. Another beautiful morning for some apple picking

I've been full-go with my (indoor) cycling and Zwift bike/app over the past few months, enjoying the rides and getting better on routes and racing. And today's La Vuelta stage that ends on L'Angliru is a reminder as to why indoor virtual cycling is where I'll continue to live.
