On Saturday, Leo Garcia Venegas was wrongfully detained by ICE for a 3rd time in a year.
Officers followed him home; he said he’s a citizen and had his REAL ID in hand. But they didn’t care. They tackled and shackled him, no questions asked.

The application for stay presented to JUSTICE JACKSON and by her referred to the Court is denied. The Government is unlikely to succeed on the merits of its challenge to the District Court's preliminary injunction. And the equitable factors applicable for obtaining emergency relief from this Court do not favor a stay.
JUSTICE KAVANAUGH, concurring.
In my view, based on the briefing the Court has received at this interim stage, there is at least a fair prospect that the final rule falls within the Postal Service's statutory authority. See 39 U. S. C. §401(2). But applying the rule in the 2026 elections would be arbitrary and capricious in violation of the Administrative Procedure Act because state and local election officials do not have sufficient time to reasonably implement the rule before the elections. See 39

The Chief Justice of the Missouri Supreme Court concluded the contempt proceeings against SoS Denny Hoskins by saying (I'm lightly paraphrasing): "Counsel, I would advise your client the Secretary of State not to venture far from Jefferson City until this contempt motion is resolved."

They're not a Trump court, they're a Republican court, and the fact those two things align 80-90% of the time instead of literally 100% doesn't mean they're therefore admirably independent. To even describe them as ideologically conservative is too generous. They are partisan politicians.

This is FALSE. ICE data showed DHS averaging 1,259 deportations/day through April 4. There is ZERO sign deportations rose by 154% since.

Consulates have a ton of discretion under existing law to deny someone a visa. And suspicion of birth tourism _has_ served as a reason to deny visas in the past. If the problem is insufficient enforcement, good news, you can solve that problem without changing the law or Constitution!
This soft-launch of a birth tourism panic is fascinating. It *is* true that some people come to the United States specifically to have a kid. It's just never really affected the average American in any way!

Donald Trump came one vote away from getting the Supreme Court to say that the 14th Amendment does not guarantee birthright citizenship for the children of undocumented and temporary immigrants, a view held only by fringe far-right nativists until VERY recently. This is shocking. I am stunned.
