Gotta say I cannot recommend inhaling a grain of quinoa while eating a salad. It’s not super pleasant. Turns out people can’t breathe amaranth seeds

Man, Canadians are up here _innovating_. I just got a giant bowl of chicken shawarma poutine.

In unrelated news, I overate and now wish to lie down.

And we've funded!!! Thank you so much to everyone who's backed and supported me along the way! Now I think I'll take a little rest

Now that DAGnabbit! is out there, I’m on to the next project, which is, I suppose, also the last project!

I’m planning a re-release of last year’s indie market game for early next year! This will be my first self-published game outside of game markets.

DAGnabbit! at the PNW Tabletop Game Market: postmortem time!

I sold 28 copies of the game, just under 60% of what I brought to the market. That’s 28 people who were as excited to play my weird little math game as I was to make it!

It's been simmering for a long time, now almost at a boil!!

NOODLE BATTLE, the pasta-themed tile puzzler, will be premiering at PAX Prime's PNW Tabletop Game Market along with a ton of other fine games (link below).

And how about those delicious drawings? All by @mydadisdracula.bsky.social!

First is Hench, a 30-minute, 3-6 player game of backstabbing cartoon minions in a VHS case.

@danthurot.bsky.social has a great review of it here - spacebiff.com/2026/08/25/h...

I'm selling it at the PNW Tabletop Game Market on Saturday 5th 7-10 pm. You can also order from me after the event!

Hench is a strange, lovely beast. It’s as far as it gets from Edward Damon’s previous title, Rex Regnat, and not only because its Saturday morning cartoon vibe is a sharp contrast with …

Step complete! Ironed on all the logos for Brick Brick Go, the brick building party game I'm going to be selling at the PNW Tabletop Game Market at PAX West!

Made the table sign for the game market and finished packaging the last few copies of DAGnabbit!. 9 days left, but almost everything is in order.

Picked up some buckwheat flour for another recipe, but I figured I’d try my hand at a galette breton. It may not be perfectly shaped, but it was delicious.

My entry in this year’s PNW Tabletop Game Market now has a live BoardGameGeek page! Just a few more weeks before I can get it into people’s hands! boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/47...

Okay, so I’m baking a cake for a friend’s engagement party. I’m bringing it over in disposable aluminum pans to make the dish/cleanup situation easier. Unfortunately, the recipe calls for a 9"x9" pan, and these aluminum pans are ~7"x7". That means the bottom area is ~60% of what it should be.

I’ve been messing with some of the more fun-sounding (to me) fishwife flavors. I was thinking about what I could do with the chili crisp smoked salmon (other than just eat it), and the package very helpfully suggested onigiri, so… I made chili crisp smoked salmon onigiri!

I don’t know why sausage, peppers, and onions are such a powerfully synergistic combination, but damn they sure are.

All three are now actively fermenting away. A little chorus of burbling sounds in the back hallway!

Just saw a production of Coriolanus in the park, and not to criticize The Bard, but there was a bit that rang false. The show would have me believe that disregarding the advice of one’s team and going on social media to spew invective about the voters would cause someone to *lose* an election.

Pitched yeast into all three new brews last night. The cherry and blackberry are showing a tiny bit of activity (some small bubbles starting to accumulate here and there), but a mere 9 hours later the peach mead is GOING

Big mead day! I bottled two batches and started three new ones.

Okay, well Plan A for today was to press 59 heat transfers onto linen bags, but then it was 92°F inside, so instead I pitted and froze a buncha peaches and cherries
July 22, 2026 at 3:55 AM
DAGnabbit! is feeling one step more real! The components and the heat transfer film just arrived from the manufacturer, so I now have everything I need to assemble the game!

I’ve done a test press, and I’m happy with the results. The goal is now to get everything put together over the next two days
