In this scenario, I foresee dems using all the fascist tools developed by trump admin to ACTUALLY target left and progressive orgs

V/H/S Viral (2014)
Madcap gory fun. Chaotic and perverse, but that's what this series is for. Stays the high water mark for inventive low budget horror. Glad to finish off the trilogy without disappointment, interested to see how the rest of them are cuz they started crankin em out

Terrified (2018)
Argentinian The Conjuring? It's kinda a ghost movie, cool creature designs but they're fleeting. Not a ton of logic or lore offered is the main downside, which is excusable if you're having a good time. Worth a watch if any of that resonates.

Innocent Blood (1992)
Normally when a film "can't figure out the tone" I get what they're doing and enjoy the attempts. This one missed the mark hard. Pittsburgh mob vampire sexy police procedural buddy cop rom com. American Werewolf worked because we got to know the characters and felt for em.

Cube (2021)
I avoided this for so long because I thought there was no reason for a remake of Cube to exist. I was right. There isn't enough new, different, or salient to warrant this, as it mostly hits the same beats, with a new emotional core and a tiny twist at the end. Save your time.

a *moderate* treatment for ideological bias is to clean a river with someone, or another shared point of interest to focus on, and demystify how your differing beliefs could bring you to this shared interest

but the *best* cure is to storm Normandy Beach

The Devil's Bath (2024)
Unrelentingly bleak and gorgeous in its melancholy. Social Reproduction: A Horror Story. A historical walk through the repercussions of a patriarchal system and the perverse incentives and society it creates. An all-timer. I feel fucking horrible.

Night of the Zoopocalypse (2024)
This is the best we can do for new Clive Barker. Some fun ideas, doesn't look too bad, but overall exactly the sum of its parts. Fun for kids probably.

After Midnight (2019)
I'm swayed by anything Benson and Moorhead touch, hope to complete their filmography this month. This is a small, economical love story that works well and hit me in my feels. Also, there's a monster which may or may not be a metaphor. Tightly executed.

Censor (2021)
Tense throughout, short mystery that escalates into the surreal, fantastic ending. Effective and not hokey use of film grain effects. Really enjoyed the ride.

Infinity Pool (2023)
Told it isnt young Cronenberg's best. Kinda predictable but still effective, weird, and off putting. Were i in this situation, I simply would not.
