As someone who has been Extremely Online since 1997, the best thing you can do for yourself, yoyr family, and your community is to minimize unrestricted internet access for you and your loved ones.
I’ll probably bungle this explanation, so please give me grace. But having kids of my own has solidified my belief, formed when I teaching, that letting your boys be “raised by the internet” is a sure-fire way to raise a dangerous abuser. It’s not a safe place. It’s not entertaining.

When i was a kid a decent gaming PC was $2500 and then for a while we got it down to like $1200 but now it's up to like $2000 again.

A lot of the post-9/11 rhetoric was about "not letting the terrorists win" and nearly everything the US has done since then has weakened us as a nation. The people who perpetrated that attack got everything they wanted and more, and we did it to ourselves.
