Imagine the world that didn't shame the young RFK, Jr., that little dreamer who just wanted to use his family's vast wealth to search for pirate gold and sunken treasure ships. Imagine this man with a trust fund and a little captain's hat, explaining how he uses LiDAR to comb the abyssal plain!

Imagining the country we would live in if millions of people could spend so much time on Martha's Vineyard or in Greece that they couldn't vote in a primary.

I'm convinced that bringing this one gesture back would permanently destroy the Republican Party at this point.

East coast. I've seen them for missing children and seniors, fires, tornados, and police standoffs. Last ones I saw were for resisting arrest and assaulting an officer...

For a while there, it looked like they wanted everyone to become Batman.

I feel like this was the same trap that SDS and other counter-culture groups fell into when opposing the Vietnam War. Using their own language alienated everyone.

People can just believe in things. You don't need in-group jargon. You can use the same words everyone else uses.

That same 1/3 is also the same 1/3 that would let the world burn before admitting they got scammed.

It's almost as if voting for people because they are sociopaths will give you leaders who act like sociopaths.

When a sitting Senator is admitting he makes himself smarter by consulting a source that's a Wix website away from being just as editable as early Wikipedia, is that a good thing?

Seems like the backlash to Woke 1.0 revealed what "stay woke" was originally meant to signify: there are people more powerful than you who want to hurt you and they will not "fight" fair. They will abuse authority to harm you, just for not being like them.

Woke 2.0 is finally accepting that advice.

R voters are enraged at their kids growing up and having opinions.

When someone imagines the reason their kid said they couldn't use a word anymore at Xmas dinner was b/c of indoctrination at college, they will celebrate when that education system is destroyed.

Not boredom, red meat retribution.

Nine times out of ten it's an electric razor, but every once in a while... it's a blowbot. Of course it's company policy never to imply ownership in the event of a blowbot... always use the indefinite article "a" blowbot, never "your" blowbot.

This is my go to response to these folks. I just tell people to visit a graveyard, have a nice walk, it's scenic, and, this time, actually read the headstones, especially the small ones.

P sure this is like year 13 of me saying this: The future of the internet is curation. Clone Prodigy and win.

Literally just webrings w/ site previews, ranking by: total activity, friend/follow activity, links to/from w/n the garden, and above all, just good, old-fashioned editing. Curate = trust.

Conservatives winning w/out the popular vote: mandate for unabridged personalist rule and abandonment of all other laws and social conventions.

Progressives winning with a landslide: Special gov't permit. No governing after dark or in inclement weather. No meeting w/ >2 constituents at a time.

Yea, put soldiers in harm's way, that's what patriots do. They used to say that all the time in during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. I guess I forgot.

Do we all have to get the yellow ribbon magnets on our cars again, or...?
