it's outrageous the governor won't meet with the mayor of the state's largest meeting to discuss a public safety problem that has been dragging for years. with every major internal problem he's shifted responsibility to the citizen (i.e. poorly compensated) legislature or under-resourced locals

yeah, this is good. properly regulated speed and red light cameras are good, Flock-style license plate reader dragnet surveillance is bad www.aclum.org/news/were-pr...
We’re privacy hawks. Here’s why we’re alarmed by license plate readers, and not necessarily by speed cameras - ACLU of Massachusetts
When properly regulated, speed cameras don't pose the same threats to privacy as license-plate-reader surveillance

Driving a car is incredibly dangerous, it should be one of the most regulated experiences on earth, and it is very upsetting to watch people who correctly don’t trust the cops turn against automated enforcement because the alternative is relying on a cop’s judgement to enforce the laws.

In South Burlington, Vermont, protesters are being tear-gassed by ICE and local police as they attempt to prevent a kidnapping.

Trump on drug prices: "This is like hundreds of percent, depending on how you want to calculate it. You could say it's an 80% reduction or you could say it's a 1,000% reduction. You could say whatever you want."
