What real leadership looks like.
No New Yorker should lose their life just trying to get around our city. We refuse to accept preventable tragedy as an inevitable part of living in New York.

That's why we’ve announced more than 100 policies to make our streets safer over the next 10 years.

I find it wild that capitalism created an abstract person that takes on the liability of the company's misdeeds rather than the execs who are the one's truly responsible for allowing it.

Oh sorry, I'm not talking about AI, close tho. I'm talking about corporations.

Digital Ocean ended their $50/month sponsorship of GNOME and FlatHub and went radio silent on CSS-Tricks right around the time they found a spare three million dollars to burn on “sponsoring” a high-profile racist’s dotfiles repo.

Impossible to see this as anything but a statement of their values.
Why CSS-Tricks Has Been Quiet Lately - Geoff Graham
Because I haven't published anything to it since August 31. And no one else has either. That's not a super long time to go silent but it is for a site that

Which is an insane notion when every driver knows, from their first day of driving, that other drivers are fucking imbeciles who are trying to cause an accident
Too much bike infrastructure seems to be premised on the idea that drivers as a class are smart people and that every driver will be a good person
Person driving at freeway speeds on I-90 Trail raises serious trail security concerns

It is insane how this road is supposed to be a bike route, but you’re sharing the road with cars that treat it like a pass through between two freeways. Crossing it feels dangerous too as very few cars even stop for pedestrians.

Free newsletter: The idea that we're nearing the creation of AI systems that we can't control and that pose an existential threat to humanity is a lie and a distraction from the tangible harms and problems caused by LLMs and AI labs' near-unlimited resources.

Adderall

That's it. Thats what I needed to relieve me of this paralysis that's been plaguing me all my life.

It's so relieving to actually DO what I set my mind on. To not feel a physical block between myself and the goals I'm thinking of. To actually feel like I'm advancing in life.

If you want to return to the OSX days of 1Password when they were a delicious app that stored your vault in your Apple devices’ file system, hadn’t sold their soul to VCs, and didn’t fund the pet project of a white supremacist, then secrets.app is where you go.

Now you can opt out of having your posts shown to non-followers in the Discover feed.

We know not everyone wants to go viral. Sometimes you're just posting for your followers. This is one of a few updates we're working on to give you more control over your experience and help you find your people.

Yeah, the author could have done a better job framing their argument with a “yes and.” Yes wear a helmet, but it won’t protect you from a car.

But that still doesn’t excuse the blind hate this article is getting that get’s people to miss that damn point.
