For 20+ hours ppl demand police open the road for farmers who’ve come all the way to Seoul for the protest. More and more people are gathering there claiming the space for dissent. In the end the destination is democracy, not a particular place.

Young women have been leading impeachment protests and other pro-democracy movements in South Korea, yet we’re still hearing comments like this.
Was asked to interview for a western media outlet and they were like "and has the impeachment vote awakened the women into political consciousness" and I was like ??? Women have always been the FOREFRONT of protest in Korea: Yoo Gwan Soon, stroller-pushing mothers in 2008, Ewha Women's Uni in 2016??

하수상한 시국이지만, 그래도 좋은 일은 있습니다. 제 파트너의 단편이 수록된 소설집이 따끈따끈 출간되었습니다. 미국 동부 어드메의 “만한 Manhan”이라는 너무나 작은 도…시(?)에 사는 선윤은 오랜 이민생활을 마치고 한국으로 돌아가게 되었는데, 마을 도서관의 영어 수업에서 예스니아라는 엘살바도르 출신 이민자를 만나게 됩니다. 떠나는 사람, 떠나지 못하는 마음, 머무르는 사람, 머무르지 못하는 마음에 대한 아름답고 안타까운 이야기예요. 많은 관심 부탁드립니다.
