Laura Knight’s portrait of Corporal Elspeth Henderson and Sergeant Helen Turner captures wartime heroism. Awarded the Military Medal after remaining at their switchboard as their RAF base was bombed, their courage is caught in the patriotic shade of Victory Red by Elizabeth Arden

I wish I had had more time to explore the #Boston Central Public Library. I also wish I had a library card….

I was able to ride the swan boats in #Boston Public Garden two days before they closed for the season.

There is no food for purchase anywhere on the Battle Road from the Minuteman Museum to Meriam’s Corner, and I forgot a spoon for my tuna pack. It also poured rain for the last hour of my march. I still loved it.

I paid a little extra to enter the North Church bell ringing chamber and the crypt in #Boston. It was well worth it. I was surprised to learn that Pitcairn was buried here after being killed in the Battle of Bunker Hill.

Visited the Brattle Bookshop in #Boston. Apparently, their mural was blown down and destroyed by a storm.

I can well imagine human sardines trying to make it down packed #Salem streets in about 2 weeks. I just visited the House of the 7 Gables before the crowds arrived.

I had the idea that there were stairs going up a hill to the Bunker Hill Memorial in #Boston. The 296 steps are inside this monstrosity of a memorial. The pictures do not convey the size of this thing.

I just returned from #Boston. My favorite place was the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. I spent 3 hours there and needed more time.

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

I just finished this. The parts about the Yazidi community are gut-wrenching. #BookSky

I woke up looking like a defeated boxer. I guess it’s contact dermatitis from weeding the yard yesterday. My daughter put together a care basket for me because she’s awesome.
