A worker making $50,000 a year contributes to Social Security on 100% of their income.

A CEO making $20 million a year contributes to Social Security on less than 1% of their income.

Instead of raising the retirement age, we should scrap the Social Security tax cap.

Wait. So banning abortion didn't decrease abortions and it only made them more deadly? WEIRD.
Mike Johnson on mifepristone: "By mailing the drugs to women across state lines, you go around state laws. It's a serious problem. Abortions have increased in numbers since Dobbs overturned Roe, and that's a great concern to us. The mailing of this drug is a very dangerous thing."

Americans have a habit of trying to compare all authoritarianism to Nazi Germany. I think in some ways i think it is comforting to view authoritarianism as a foreign ideology. If you want to understand our current authoritarian moment, you need to look to our own past, not to Europe 1/x

My hottest “I have no data to back this up” take is that phones aren’t making young people less happy. What’s making them less happy is living in a world where everyone is having their reality defined by recommendation algorithms that can only care about whether something keeps you watching.

That's way down form the share the prior year (72%) who said they could report suspected illegal activity without fear
