Retired nurse. Enthusiastic explorer of history - particularly nursing. A reader, a walker & a dreamer for a just world.
Well done Sarah Rogers! for this meticulously researched biography of the amazing 'maker of matrons' - Eva Luckes, the iconic matron of The London. One of the early trend - setting Victorian British nurses.

Very good to be back at the Labour History Archive at the People's History Museum, reading through pictures and Molly's letters home when she was nursing in the Spanish Civil War. Thanks to archivist Darren for looking after us. #MollyMurphy #HistNursing

Well done @rcnlibraries for an excellent exhibition. Historic context, memories and collaboration with current prisoners and nurses offer a window into this hidden, but essential nursing speciality. Currently at the Edinburgh library, and open to the Fringe! #hustnursing #edfringe

Four weeks into the latest escalation in #Lebanon the humanitarian situation is rapidly deteriorating. Health facilities are closing, hospitals are evacuating and medical staff are working under immense pressure as access to care becomes increasingly difficult and communities are disrupted.

This is utterly jaw-dropping.

A school that bans Atwood, Zadie Smith, Terry effing Pratchett and *literal George Orwell* is actively harming its pupils.
