Okay, so I've done some analysis of Crimson Desert's launch.

And yeah, they didn’t lose the launch.

They lost control of the narrative.

From a community POV - reactive vs proactive isn’t just timing - it’s who controls the story.

It’s rare a review will put me off buying a game I was really looking forward to but man, @skillup.bsky.social has put me off Wolverine completely. What a shame. Great breakdown (as usual) here: youtu.be/YhUiptupV7A?...

The other thing interesting me at the moment is the discourse around FC27 and the various bits of news we’re seeing. I’m fortunate to be part of The Grounds playtesting horde and early verdict is…. semi-promising? My reference point is 2K and The City, it’s like a lite version

Excited, obviously. This is different too. Cant think of another game that’s partnered with someone like Netflix in this way

Excited for Forza Horizon 6. Reviews and my timeline are awash with positives. Looks like Playground have nailed it. Great launch.

Love this. What a fantastic story this has turned out to be. I’ve loved my time with Crimson Desert so far - still in Hernand and who can blame me?

Have to say I'm finding the launch and post-launch chat around Crimson Desert fascinating. Some great reactive work from Pearl Abyss. Some questionable moments pre-release. It's a commercial hit, you'd have to say, but hasn't delivered on its promise thus far. Important road ahead, very intriguing.

Yeah this is good stuff. Very intrigued to see what happens with Xbox over the next five or so years. Suspect Seamus Blackley might be on the money...
"Xbox, like a lot of businesses that aren’t the core AI business, is being sunsetted. They don’t say that, but that’s what’s happening. I expect that the new CEO, Asha Sharma, her job is going to be as a palliative care doctor who slides Xbox gently into the night."

This is a very important quote from the interview that I hope every single company hoping to capitalize on the gaming industry reads and internalizes. Games are a unique market, and you can't just apply strategies from other industries and find success. This has been proven time and time again.

Just can’t see the board doing what needs to be done. They staked too much on Frank and can’t/won’t want their first big decision to be seen as such a colossal error. For me, if we stick with him we go down. Simple as that really.

It can’t be *nine* game awards good can it?! I have it preloaded but haven’t hit start yet - and it’s been looking at me for about five months. I’ll take the plunge soon but don’t expect me to finish it before 2027. Bit time poor since my daughter arrived last year

Still the case. Actually getting worse week by week. If this is what a serious football club looks like I want to be stupid and chaotic again. Clueless stuff from the first minute.
Football is meant to be entertaining and/or fun. I am having zero fun watching Frank’s Spurs. It is mind-numbingly boring stuff at the moment.
