Graphic Designer and Painter. My art is like that one episode of The Simpsons with the chili.
Shading was smoothed, colors were deepened, and edges were sharpened. What was once a canvas destined for the paint-over pile is now one of my favorite pieces. (2/2)

This painting was originally finished in 2021, the only one I managed to create that year. I tried to use the same sort of blocky shading @theobanoth.bsky.social is known for, but it just turned into a visual mess. Four years later, I put the canvas back on the easel. #painting (1/2)

The sketchbook page in question. The original idea was basically: "What if Vaporwave, but in the desert?" Removing the words changed the composition more than I thought it would, and it took a few tries on the canvas to get it right.

It's funny, after my last piece "Nightdrive", I had fully intended to make more art centered around my houseplants, in a similar style. Instead I started going through my sketchbooks for ideas I never fleshed out. #acrylicpainting

Only about a week and a half between this one and the last one. This one pokes at feeling stuck in the suburbs while you know somewhere out there, exciting things are happening. #art

I've been painting a ton this month. It started when I decided to not worry about concept too much and just paint some of my plants in wild colors. I had so much fun doing it, it was kind of like dredging out the creativity stream. All I want to do is keep going.

I've been drawing for myself lately. It helps I don't have to throw all my creative energy into a job. Here's a quick sketch of Austin Public Library Central

Without downloading any new pics, where are you at mentally?

Whenever I've been feeling sad about the dog at work, I doodle her.

Did this one back in 2018, before COVID ruined the live-painting scene. Still one of my favorites

Something about Halloween makes me want to draw Ed Roth style hot-rods. Here's last year's.

Mazda RX-7 in the style of @spacegooose.bsky.social. I love the way they capture light and was trying to take some notes. I'm a much more practiced vector artist, lately. I should get back around to digital painting.

Our sweet pup passed Saturday. My favorite video of her is still this one from 2018 when she was completely bewildered by our new robot vacuum.

We'll miss you, girl.

Wishing I was here today. Farmland just outside Füssen, Germany. My wife and I walked from town to a little alpine snack hut a few km away. It was so peaceful! The cows really did wear alpine cowbells.

Incidentally, the above shot is from my old save, before 1.0. Here is my current progress on rebuilding it. I love the starkness of this image
