I've never felt awkward about passing people on sidewalks because I'm a fast walker. But something about passing people while pushing a stroller does make me feel weird, almost like I'm really emphasizing that they're slow.

My longest gaps between seeing a live act:

I can't fathom DHC will be beat any time soon.

Peaches slides into the 2 slot at 25 years, 1 month, 23 days. 2026 has been huge for seeing some live acts again after a long break.
Of course a game like that in this season is one that the Mets beat the Marlins.

My son slept so poorly that he was down for a nap (w/ mama) before I woke up at 7am. I haven't had morning solitude like the last two hours in way too long. I forgot how pleasant an ocean of free time for myself can be.

Despite living in Chicago for 20+ years, my dialect is apparently still very much east coast. (And I even went with "sub" over "hoagie.")

Most of my list is dozens of 90s alternative bands and the reason is my dad saying "It's a school night! You can't go to a concert on a school night."
But also:
David Bowie (saw Sufjan Stevens and the Delgados the same night for $21 instead of the $70+ for Bowie)

I went to the Obama Presidential Center earlier this week and, as inspiring as parts of it are, it's actually kinda depressing to be reminded of how things were vs. how they are.

Vampire Weekend has been the clue or answer on Jeopardy 15 times, not even including a category called "Vampire Weekend" about vampires. I can't think of another modern band that's been mentioned so often. Who on that staff loves them?

It's pretty cool to go to a great show and then the band posts that it's maybe the best show they've played. It would be super awkward if they posted that and you thought the show was terrible.

Two weeks ago I ordered new glasses. They arrived in 4 days, but in the wrong size. Returned/reordered and rep said they'd expedite + overnight new ones. It took 4 days just for the new ones to ship and now they're misrouted. When will I see properly again?

What's the girl from Little Richard's "She's Got It" really like? I can't figure "some people think she's square" if "when she walks down the street all the cats flip" and "she'll dance 'til the jukebox pop." That sounds like a hip lady.

Last night I went to a Lollapalooza aftershow that started at 11pm. I got home just before 2am. My son woke up at 4:40am. I am pleasantly surprised that I have made it to 3pm with minimal issues.

Rocket From the Crypt and Man or Astroman playing together would have broken my brain in high school. I don't think I listened to any two bands more during the '96/'97 school year. Luckily, I have seen both many times since but never at the same show. I may need to remedy that.

My house's front door has a screen door that opens outward. And yet way too often delivery people place boxes directly in front of it. How am I supposed to get out of the house with a box blocking me like that?

My 1-year old son is the worst sleeper of any baby I know and we're in the midst of a bottom 5 night of sleep of his life. I'm losing my mind.

Tonight I went to a baseball game with my dad. Each time we referenced a batter's stats, he used batting average and I used OPS. I hadn't realized before this how locked into old stats he is.

It seems crazy that Mark Vientos has actually won more ABS challenges than he's lost because the losses have all seemed obvious and several of the wins were in wildly low leverage situations. Does he just have no discipline?

Tonight I referred to Angine de Poitrine as Primus cosplay and the person I said it to wasn't sure if that was real or not, so it's at least plausible.
