Trying to rescue some old 35mm slides and came across this I took in Malaysia in 1982. Google says Wallace's flying frog (Rhacophorus nigropalmatus.) Not a frogger so I won't dispute this. #frogs

Two from this morning's walk. Cyclosia papilionaris and Junonia orithya. #moths #butterflies

Some more bugs seen this morning. Spittlebugs, Callitettix versicolor? (I'm intrigued by the variation in pattern and colouration); mating pair of Amata sperbius; a Lamiinae
beetle and a damp Aloa lactinea (red costate tiger moth.) #moths #insects #nature

Cricket courtship from my walk this morning. Probably not the first attempt. I withdrew discretely for them to consummate the act in private. #insects #nature

Overnight rains bring out the moths. Some seen on my morning walks the last few days. 4 posted 2 days ago; 3 from this morning. All pretty common. Macrobrochis gigas, Achaea janata (Erebidae) and Chiasmia Eleonora or nora (Ennominae.) #moths #insects

Always a pleasure to find these tiny moths in the grass after overnight rain. I took advantage of my dogs going off to do dog things to take a few snaps. The brown one is Spoladea recurvalis, not sure about the others. #moths #teammoth

Overnight rain brings out the bugs. These from my dog walk this morning. Callitettix versicolor (Black Froghopper,) a charming Hemithyrsocera palliata, Golden Ring Cockroach, Lesser Dart (Potanthus omaha) and terrible pic but I'm guessing assassin bugs, nymphs? #insects #entomology #nature

Butterflies on a rainy morning. Common Pierrot (Castalius rosimon), Common Leopard (Phalanta phalantha), aka the Spotted Rustic, and Junonia orithya (Blue Pansy), female. Spotted while out walking with my dogs. #butterflies

Several moths in the grasses on my dog walk this morning. Mostly what I assume to be the Crimson-speckled moth (Utetheisa pulchella) in various states of repair. #moths #teammoth

A nice Tuftwing moth on the track I walk with my dogs this morning. Pterothysanus laticilia, old world butterfly moth. You can just about see the tufts on the wings. Plus an earlier sighting and a mating pair. Quite common around here in the rainy season.

A very friendly tokay gecko (Gekko gecko) has moved in with me this evening.

A colourful caterpillar this morning that will one day be Papilio clytia. Too bad evolution didn't treat humans as the larval stage of something more beautiful and less harmful.

Very nice find. We have some seriously hairy moths in Chiang Mai- not just legs. If ever there was a "Hirsute moth" contest, I would put my money on Cheromettia apicata (one that came to my lights a few years ago)

Visitor to the house last night. Daphnis hypothous, Jade hawkmoth (I think, I can never tell it from D. nerii.)
It spent the night in the kitchen but I persuaded it to leave in the morning.
The third image is Daphnis nerii, I think #moths

Yet the faint wind comes soothingly
