1500 years ago, the infrastructure of Roman cities - the roads, bridges and aqueducts - was left to fall into disrepair, while cash was pumped into new vanity projects: churches & cathedrals. Fast forward to the present day and precious water and energy is being guzzled by new gods: AI data farms.
