Just received a text from a friend while he’s out on a walk with his daughter this morning. They spotted a baby deer and she named it Jess “after our friend” and now I’m going to go ugly cry for an hour or so 😩

Hit 10k steps yesterday for the first time since before surgery, trying to average about 2 miles per day to build my endurance back up. Now accepting tips on how to basically re-start running from square one after a major surgery 🥴

Three surgeries in four weeks was not on my 2026 bingo card. Cheers to healing after a bilateral mastectomy, necrosis and a persistent infection, and cheers again to reconstruction in about 6 months. It’s been rough but worth it to not have to worry about breast cancer ever again 💪

A routine breast MRI on 12/26 found precancerous lesions, pushing my lifetime risk of breast cancer through the roof. I’ve joked since my mom’s 1st bc diagnosis in 2003 that I don’t want my boobs if they’re going to try to kill me.

I still can’t believe the Nazi salute wasn’t a revolutionary turning point. If we’re the frogs, the water is BOILING. They just keep moving the goal posts one inch at a time so that when they build the first gas chamber we’ll be like “well, they could be going into it willingly 🤷”

I’m here to tell you that ankle socks have duped us all. Switched to full crew socks for my day to day dressing and suddenly I’m no longer always chilly. Sure you lose heat from your head but no one talks about the ankles.

It just occurred to me that we take for granted how unhinged our adolescence was. We came of age when a song that combined heavy metal, bagpipes, and NURSERY RHYMES not only made it into the top 40 but was nominated for a Grammy. Just wild.
