Cyclist. Work at Imperial College London. Former councillor.
Disappointed with @theroyalparks.bsky.social failure to manage parking in Richmond Park ahead of yesterday's eclipse. It wasn't exactly an unexpected event. Friend I cycled with was almost doored on Sawyer's Hill; Dark Hill was incredibly dangerous.

Meaningful votes and backbenchers seizing the order paper and WhatsApp groups with funny names and borders at sea and an unlawful prorogation (that retrospectively never happened)
Obviously the real stopping Brexit was *not* the friends we made along the way, but I do miss Femi & EUSupergirl & the Malthouse Compromise & John Bercow & laughing at Andrew Lillico & Oliver Letwin running the country & @guitarmoog.bsky.social and @ottocr.at’s podcast and the Russians did it and…

Other than Noddy Holder, it's alphabetical by surname!
Kind of neat that Noddy Holder (80) tops today’s @thetimes.com birthday list and Xi Jinping (73) brings up the rear

The six-hour exams I did on Shakespeare and Chaucer were *better* for having access to the texts. Same number of questions as the three-hour exams, expectation not to write any more - just better.
Depends on the subject. I think being able to take your notes in = not a good idea in most topics. Being able to take an unmarked Lear = fine.

The amendment includes no requirement to publish the DBS certificate, just to obtain it.
It isn’t a pass/fail thing they just put your convictions, including spent ones, on the enhanced DBS

I am not sure what they are even aiming for here

Unless it’s actually what she means - some years you get CPI, some years you qualify for 2.5%. Everyone’s ‘basic’ state pension ends up unique to them and their changing circumstances…??
The language she used refers to means testing the triple lock - but you means-test the benefit (the state pension) not the uprating mechanism (the triple lock)

Technological developments are out-stripping our capacity to tackle violence against women and girls.

Sexually-explicit deepfakes are becoming an increasingly worrying issue - in and out of schools.

So, I am today calling on the Government to ban nudifying tools and apps.

I’m giving this a go.

I think it’s important we still exist every space, even if it’s uncomfortable. You can’t find the compromises you need to make to live in a cohesive society if you don’t engage with those who you disagree with.

But it would be nice to have nice spaces too.
