What happens when a husk of a man shares his thoughts?

I think that my draft is already saying something about how I can create a perception of headspace through a combination of images and footage alone. Something that could possibly change by listening to the piece is the pacing between these images. #hwa7 #revision

A third voice is what occurs when two different "voices" (in this context, the audio and visual tracks of our videos) create something which neither can say alone. It's different from both the artist's voice and GPT's voice in that it serves as an intersection of the two #hwa7 #definingthethirdvoice

Patty sees surrealism as art which questions conventions. She rejects linear thinking and wants to mutate genre. I feel like my SME No. 3 creates a sense of dream logic when employing different imagery connected together by a loose theme. #hwa7 #pattyandsurrealism

Patty made a strong emphasis of taking advantage of the materials she had already for PD; I think that helps show me that I have a lot more resources in my hands than I might think. I'll have to see if there are any objects in my house which could possibly serve as a prop #hwa7 #budgetconstraint

I think that the emoji balloons felt exceptionally emotionally charged to me; they felt like some kind of representation of emotions that I can't quite put my finger on. However, I think it helped show that meanings associated with familiar symbols can convey so much #hwa7 #notjustprops

I don't think my project will ever involve dancing; I just can't seem to think of a moment where it would ever fit #hwa7 #209breakdances

I'd definitely consider PD an anti-environment. Its surreal elements constantly make you aware of your media consumption, which conventional environments do not do. #hwa7 #heypatty

I think hearing the thought process behind creating a relationship with auditory and visual tracks is just what I needed to hear for a push in the right direction. It's nice to hear that it's fine for the visuals and audio to only be loosely related at times. #hwa7 #pattyin209

It's interesting to hear Patty Gone's thought process in incorporating the fish tank into her work. When I hear her line of thinking, it makes me want to go back and rewatch Painted Dreams to see what else I might have missed simply from not understanding. #hwa7 #pattyin209

It's very relieving to hear that good work can come out of a low budget. I think the most intimidating part of the SMEs is that recording using very little materials make it feel extremely amateurish. #hwa7 #pattyin209

It's fascinating to hear about Patty Gone's experiences with soap operas. I'm not sure if it applies, but I have watched a lot of telanovelas with my grandmother that also have characters who age with you. Some of these shows can last for so long too. #hwa7 #pattyin209

I think it's pretty cool that Patty Gone has a bit of experience in creative writing, speaking as somebody who does it in their free time. I wonder how her experience with it has shaped her artistic decisions #hwa7 #pattyin209

I'm not sure if this is a strange part to take a picture of, but it just comes off so strong when combined with the audio that talks about having babies being "just about fucking." All of a sudden, there's a strong harmony between the visuals and audio here. #painteddreams

The consistent shots of figurines, despite not really having any strong relation to the auditory track, really helps show that not everything in a documentary needs to immediately make sense to the viewer. #painteddreams

This shot is so absurd to me that I'm not even sure what to even look at first. I get very confused in this part, but perhaps that's an intentional effect of possibly trying to establish an anti-environment #painteddreams

I'm beginning to see that Patty really likes to use dancing as a big idea of Painted Dreams. In a sense, I think it can occasionally clash with the serious-toned commentary played over it. Perhaps its also an expression of more lighthearted thoughts. #painteddreams

Beginning Season 2 of Painted Dreams, I'm seeing that the emoji balloons might be a recurring thing to address; perhaps they are a reflection of Patty's emotions in this season or the representation of feigned ones #painteddreams

As I finish season 1 of Painted Dreams, I notice that it episodes (if that is what they are) cover very different topics. I wonder if there is any reason why these topics in particular are being covered, and how each subject contributes to the seasons' overarching ideas #painteddreams

The incorporation of personal footage of oneself from the distant past is a choice that feels oddly vulnerable. It makes me feel like I'm looking at something that I shouldn't be seeing #painteddreams
August 9, 2026 at 10:19 PM
I wonder what the artistic choice is behind Patty using a fidget spinner. It creates a sense of consistency in an environment so absurd and surreal #painteddreams

This particular shot in Season 1 sticks out to me in that direct eye contact with the camera can create so much tension with so little effort; it feels personal to an uncomfortable extent #painteddreams
August 9, 2026 at 10:13 PM
Immediately right as I began watching Painted Dreams, I realized that this strongly resembles the videos that I've been seeing for the SMEs. Perhaps this is something to look up to for an example #painteddreams

When creating SME No. 4, I decided to use a verbal track of a rant covering a moment when I got locked outside of my house and had to sleep on a bench for the night. The visual track covers a person writing in a journal with imagery of both fire and nature occurring between the writing scenes.
