If you have never heard Ms. Dolly Parton and her goddaughter Miley Cyrus perform Miley’s jam “Wrecking Ball,” then you are in for a real treat.

Please enjoy.

“Dutch people cycle an average of 2.6km each per day. If this pattern was replicated worldwide, annual carbon emissions would drop by 686 million tonnes.

This mammoth figure exceeds the entire carbon footprint of most countries, including the UK, Canada, Saudi Arabia and Australia.” @euronews.com
Cycling like the Dutch would slash the world’s carbon footprint
If everybody cycled like the Dutch, we could offset the UK or Australia’s entire carbon footprint.

This is who Dolly Parton was. ❤️

“My dad couldn’t read and write, so I wanted to do something to make him feel part of something special.”

So she did. Dolly turned her love for her dad into the Imagination Library, putting more than 330 MILLION books into the hands of children.

Dolly Parton's family asked that, in lieu of flowers, fans make a donation to the singer's Imagination Library.

I genuinely love how accomplished actors from Rita Moreno to Michael Caine play it absolutely straight with Muppets as if they were working with humans
Found this recording of Rita Moreno performing “Fever” on The Muppet Show from 1976. 14/10

Last week I finished The Future by Naomi Alderman. A refugee and a cult survivor look at the world and decide: we could fix this. Different paths, same audacity. The book leaves you with: who gets to decide what comes next? Anyone brave enough to try. #aifuture #booksky

We undermine ourselves with loose terminology and hand-wavy definitions

Good deep dive into tech broligarchy madness:
New, from me: Take the Palantir manifesto seriously, if not literally.
It reveals that our tech philosopher kings want public money, but without public accountability. This creates a dilemma for governments unaligned with its techno-fascist vision. 🧵

AI doesn’t kill leadership. It kills the illusion that task coordination was leadership.

What remains is the harder part: judgment, boundaries, escalation and system design.

New piece:

From Team Lead to System Designer: what leadership looks like when humans and AI work side by side
AI will not make leadership less important. It will make weak leadership easier to spot and push good leaders to design workflows, guardrails, approvals and trust instead of just chasing tasks.

Crew will install 2 post-landing Lithium Hydroxide units that will manage CO2 levels for up to 2 hours until the recovery team gets the hatch open. I’ll go over contingencies that could take longer in another thread. These are battery powered to preserve vehicle power for other things.

Starting tomorrow, we start reconfiguring the cabin for entry. Entry config will look a lot like launch with a few key differences.

Goals: Make sure we’re within the needed center of gravity to hit the way at the right angle. Allow the crew to remain seated & suited during recovery.
